The Chinese government will take a decision in this regard in a couple of days, according to sources at the Nepalese embassy in Beijing.

The President´s Office in Kathmandu has discussed the expected invitation from China but not yet taken any decision in this regard. Nepal´s ambassador to China Tanka Karki is expected to visit Nepal in the last week of March to make arrangements for the president´s visit.

Chinese President Hu Jintao had sent a letter of invitation to President Yadav via Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal during the latter´s China visit two months ago. During his visit, the president is expected to meet his Chinese counterpart Hu, other senior Chinese leaders and world leaders.

China has already invited Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal for the Expo. According to Maoist foreign department chief Krishna Bahadur Mahara, the Maoist chairman is the only leader from South Asia who will be among 100 select politicians of the world to attend the mega event.

Mahara said the Maoist party is yet to receive details of the program. The invitation to Dahal has been seen as proof of strengthening ties between China and Nepal´s Maoist party.
