KATHMANDU, March 1: The Vice-Chancellor Selection and Recommendation Committee of Purbanchal University has announced that the conceptual papers and action plans submitted by the applicants for the Vice-Chancellor position are currently under evaluation.

Ramesh Chandra Paudel, a member of the selection and recommendation committee, stated that experts are currently assessing the conceptual papers and action plans submitted by the applicants. Following the completion of this evaluation, presentations and interviews will be conducted. Based on the assessment, the committee will recommend three candidates for the position.

Although the procedure for the selection and recommendation of the vice chancellor of Purbanchal University, 2080 BS, involves shortlisting candidates based on the average score of the evaluation, the committee has opted to recommend the names of three people without publishing the shortlist due to the limited number of applicants.

Paudel said, "Now, after the experts have finished evaluating the work plan and the conceptual papers, there will be a presentation and an interview, based on which, three people will be recommended." The committee announced the list of 18 applicants on February 21.

The Vice-Chancellor Selection and Recommending Committee, chaired by Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Ashok Kumar Rai, with members including Education Secretary Suresh Adhikari and Planning Commission Education Officer Ramesh Chandra Paudel, had invited applications for the Vice-Chancellor position on February 6.

The tenure of Prof. Dr. Yadav Koirala as the Vice-Chancellor of Purbanchal University ended today. However, the university confirmed that he bid farewell on February 26, 2024.
