DAMAULI, March 10: District development committee, Tanahun, has banned stone, pebble and sand extraction from Kotre of Dulegaunda VDC to Dovan of Khairanitar VDC in the Seti River.

Local development officer Hari Prasad Dahal informed that the DDC decided in this effect after complaints were lodged by the locals informing that the contractors extracted pebbles, stones and sand by excessive use of dozers, loaders and excavators.

Khairanitar Dulegaunda civil society had submitted a memorandum to the DDC a week ago by demanding to stop the uncontrolled extraction of the stones, pebbles and sand from the Seti River.

VDCs concerned and DDC get 40 and 60 percent income gained from the stones, pebbles and sand supply.
