14 injured in truck-winger collision in Saptari

JANAKPURDHAM, March 16:  At least 14 people were injured when a truck and a winger collided in Saptari.

On Wednesday midnight, a truck (Na 4 Kha 2608) and a winger (Ba 01-028 Cha 2215) coming from the opposite direction collided with each other on the east-west highway at Jagmohan, Rupani Rural Municipality-6, Saptari.

The injured include the driver and passengers of the winger. The injured are Dilip Kumar Ram, 35, Rakesh Prasad Sah, 23, Sah's wife, Pinkikumari Sah, 30, son Yuman Sah, 5, and Sheetal Kumari Sah, 20, of Lahan Municipality-24 Manharba, Siraha.

Similarly, 45-year-old Ganesh Sah of Lahan-1, his 6 year old son Awash Sah, local Ramesh Kumar Sah, 55 years old, his wife Munidevi Sah, 50 years old, Rakesh Kumar Gupta, 40 years old, resident of Birgunj Metropolitan City-3 in Parsa, his wife Aabha Devi Gupta, 35 years old, 20-year-old Roshan Sah of Bihar, India, 21-year-old Aartikumari Sah of Lahan-8 Sukhipur and 8-year-old Aarab Kumar Sah, son of Rakesh Sah were also injured.

Saptari police spokesperson DSP Naresh Kumar Singh said that the injured are being treated at the local Unique Hospital.

According to him, the truck, truck driver and winger are under the control of Area Police Office, Rupani.

The District Police Office, Saptari, said that further investigation into the accident is underway.
