Nepali cricketers chosen Reebok ambassadors

KATHAMNDU, Feb 9: Popular sports goods brand Reebok unveiled five cricketing personalities as its brand ambassadors amid a function in Kathmandu on Monday. Those named ambassadors by Reebok’s authorized dealer in Nepal, Sports Plaza, are national captain Binod Das, U-17 captain Prithu Baskota, senior cricketer Dipendra Chaudhary, U-17 player Sagar Pun and Sangrila Cricket Academy director Aamir Akhtar. Reebok will provide clothing and sports gears for the ambassadors for a year, according to Prabhat Sarraf, a director of Sports Plaza.

“It’s a big day in Reebok Nepal’s history,” Sarraf said in the occasion. “Reebok Nepal stands dedicated for the development of sports and players.”



National captain Das thanked the company for the sponsorship and said he hoped that Reebok will continue to help Nepali cricket to grow. “I also hope others from the private sector will follow the trend,” he said.



Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) member Thakur Pratap Thapa and general secretary of Nepal Sports Journalists Forum Hemanta Kafle praised Reebok’s effort while Sports Plaza’s marketing manager Sri Ram Jha said they were excited about the launch of brand ambassadors from Nepali cricket team.
