Rupak Acharya took home the best gross award with four points while Tashi Ghale finished second with minus four points. Ghale also won the award for Closest to the Pin on second shot on the ninth hole.
Els Schapendonk won the ladies trophy with one point, while Mrs Song finished second at zero. LP Gurung, who scored minus two points, was the winner in the senior section, ahead of Lil Bahadur Gurung (-4). Karan Chaudhary and Kencho Ongdi won the junior boys and girls awards, respectively.
Wang Yi won the Longest Drive award ahead of Ashwini Saxena, while Joon Yoon Jeon bagged the closest to the pin award. AT Sherpa had the best front nine card, while Tashi Sherpa did so on the back nine.
Inter-school girls´ basketball from Sunday
KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Kathmandu Academy is organizing Kwiks Inter-school Girls´ Basketball from Sunday at Mahendra Bhawan Higher Secondary School´s court.
The nine-day long tournament carries the highest purse among the school-level basketball tournaments held so far in the capital -- Rs 51,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 for the top three teams.
The match participated by 16 teams will be held in league-cum-knockout format under technical assistance of Nepal Basketball Association, stated the organizers at a press meet on Saturday.
The most valuable player of the tournament will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and the highest scorer and highest three pointer will bag Rs 3,000 each.The organizers are also scheduled to felicitate five women basketball players.
The expected expense of the tournament is Rs 397,000.
