Special Committee meeting put off again

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: The meeting of the Special Committee on Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of the Maoist combatants was put off yet again on Thursday after none of the two Maoist representatives showed up in the meeting.



Chief Secretary Madhav Ghimire told media persons that the meeting could not take place as some members of the committee did not attend the meeting.



The date of the next meeting has not been scheduled yet. UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel, who is also a member of the committee, said the meeting was put off as the Maoist representatives did not come to the meeting.



"We tried to contact them, but their mobile phones were switched off," he said. This is the third time the committee´s meeting has been put off.
