KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Nepali Congress (NC) Central Member Dr Shashank Koirala has said that the NC should not form an alliance with any party in the upcoming local elections.
Speaking at a meeting of the Nepali Congress Working Committee held on Thursday, Koirala said that there should be no alliance with any party in the upcoming local elections. Giving a brief response to the media after the meeting, he said that he was of the opinion that NC should go to the election on its own without joining other parties to save their existence.
"What I mean is we have to save our own existence," he said. I was the only one in the meeting who said that we should go without forming an alliance with any other party. Koirala made it clear that the MCC project should be passed. He also said that the conventions of the party's sister organizations would be held after the local level election.
