KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the current ruling coalition is already on the verge of collapse. He made the remarks while talking to media persons after a meeting between Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairman of the Main Opposition Party CPN- UML KP Sharma Oli at the Federal Parliament building in Baneshwor on Thursday.

Thapa said that the ruling coalition is not in a position to move forward as it is trapped. He informed that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had said that he is ready to discuss all options to create an environment for the CPN (UML) to come and participate in the parliament.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Deuba said that the issue of ratifying the MCC is linked to the credibility of Nepal's international relations and that he is least concerned about the fate of the coalition government. Thapa also said that there is no need to hold further discussions to save the alliance as the current government failed to function properly.
