RUKUM, Jan 2: At least four persons were injured when a jeep fell 500 meters below the road towards the Sanobheri river at Gilbang of Syalapakha, Rukum on Sunday night.
The jeep (Lu 1 A 1056) heading towards Solanbang from Dhaunne Bazaar of Rukum plunged downhill injuring Tilbir KC, 33, of Banphikot – 7, Dev Raj Shahi, 23, of Banphikot – 5, Avishek Shahi, 25, of Syalapakha – 3 and Diamond Shahi, 20, of Musikot Municipality – 5, said Inspector, Thaman Bahadur Rajali, of District Police Office, Rukum.
The injured passengers have been referred to Nepalgunj after they could not be treated at the District Hospital Salle, District Health Office, Rukum Chief, Dr Rajendra GC said. Among the injured, Aviskhek and Tilbir are reported to be in critical condition.
Police assume that a high number of casualties in such a serious case did not occur due to the fact that people onboard the jeep may have fell out midway as the vehicle plunged downhill. Police are launching further investigation into the incident. RSS
