120 players to participate in national kick boxing competition

KATHMANDU, Aug. 5: A total of 120 players from five development regions are to participate in the First National Kick Boxing Competition.

The National Kick Boxing Association Nepal is the organizer of the competition.



At a news conference organised here on Monday, Chairman of the Association, Lokendra Karki said that the competition is to be held from August 7-9 in Kathmandu.

The players would compete in three categories—light contact, semi contact and full contact. [break]



The competition would be organised at the Olympian Semi Covered Hall of the National Sports Council, Tripureshwor.



Gold, silver and bronze medal winners of the full contact in the competition would get Rs. 10,000. Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 2,000 respectively.

Winners of other categories would get medals and certificates.



Chief coach of the World Kick Boxing Federation, Sihan Enrico Champoli would also be present in the competition.



Around Rs. 620,000 is needed to run the competition, said Chief coach, Deepak Shrestha.
