Boxing tournament from May 19

KATHMANDU, April 25: Max Boxing Promotion (MBP) and Dancing Yak are jointly organizing the Cham of Champions, a boxing championship in Kathmandu from May 19 to 20. The competition will feature competitions in light weight (61 kg).

KATHMANDU, April 25: Max Boxing Promotion (MBP) and Dancing Yak are jointly organizing the Cham of Champions, a boxing championship in Kathmandu from May 19 to 20. The competition will feature competitions in light weight (61 kg).  



Organizing a press conference in the capital on Tuesday, MBP's Max Basnet informed that the qualifying round matches of the competition will feature 16 players from different parts of the country who will compete in the Dasharath Stadium's covered hall.  Eight players will advance to the final event, whose date has not yet been revealed. 



Basnet informed that the champion will bag a purse of Rs 200,000 while the second and third place finishers will be awarded Rs 30,000 and 10,000. Similarly top three players will also get professional boxing license from the World Boxing Council (WBC) and WBC Asia.
