Republica's photographers chronicled the lives of people across the country during the first nationwide lockdown. These photos capture the struggles, hardships and the pain of the people due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The government announced a first nationwide lockdown on March 24, which was later extended repeatedly for a total 120 days amid growing number of COVID-19 cases. Those living in Kathmandu scrambled to go to their villages for safety and comfort. Others went through great pains to reach their villages. We documented these challenging times in the history of our nation.
