12 teachers quit job to contest local polls in Khotang

KHOTANG, April 26: Teachers affiliated with different political parties have started tendering their resignations in a bid to open legal way for contesting the local polls slated for May 14.

KHOTANG, April 26: Teachers affiliated with different political parties have started tendering their resignations in a bid to open legal way for contesting the local polls slated for May 14.


Even though most of them have shown a desire to contest the local polls for the position of chairperson of Municipality and Rural Municipality, some of them have indicated their interest in contesting the local elections for the position of the chairperson of Ward Committee of Municipality and Rural Municipality.

Though most of them decided to resign from their post after the party they belong to assured them of its nomination of their name as a candidate, some have ventured to resign to pressure their party to get their name nominated as a candidate in the upcoming local polls despite uncertainty over the possibility of them being nominated.


According to District Election Office, Khotang, a dozen of teachers have resigned for their post over the last two weeks.


They include Rajan Prasad Dhakal, head of Simpani Campus, Simpani, Biswonath Niraula, a teacher of Makpa Secondary School, Makpa, Keshabraj Karki, a teacher of Saraswoti Secondary School, Dandakharka, Basanta Karki, a teacher of  Janta Secondary School, Batase , among others
