KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there is still the possibility of amending the constitution. Stating that the government is in no mood to withdraw the constitution amendment proposal registered in parliament, Dahal urged everyone to create a conducive environment for the same.

Speaking at the Headquarter Meeting of his party, CPN (Maoist Center), Dahal said he was trying his best to woo the CPN-UML to support the constitution amendment bill.

On another note, the PM said conspiracies were being hatched against federalism in the country.

“The government is positive about holding local elections after amending the constitution and thus, starts the implementation of the constitution. But some forces are trying to obstruct the implementation of federalism,” the PM claimed.

According to Maoist Center leader Mani Thapa, the PM said, the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML want to put the constitution amendment bill on hold and announce local polls. “But I am for implementing the three point agreement signed with the Madhesi Front while forming this government,” he said.
