Army won't engage in any kind of politics: Katawal

KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Nepal Army Chief General Rookmangud Katawal has said the army will not engage in any kind of politics, according to Radio Nepal. Katawal was speaking at the closing ceremony of Nagarkot festival in Nagarkot, Bhaktapur on Wednesday. He said the army will not shy away from its responsibility to defend the country and serve the people. Katawal´s statement came a day after Defence Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, a top Maoist, alleged that the army is involved in diplomatic shenanigans and violating government orders.
