DHANGADHI, Nov 23: The DNA report of a human skeleton sent for tests to verify whether it was of slain Kailali journalist JP Joshi has arrived after 13 months. [break]

The report that has come to the District Court on a sealed envelope via District Police Office has not been made public. Sources, however, claim that the report has not been conclusive.

Kailali police said Joshi´s family has been informed to take the skeleton for cremation but no one has come to claim it. The family has not performed funeral rites after the skeleton was sent for tests last year.

The report has arrived after the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) put pressure on the government to make the report public. Joshi went missing since he left his house in Malakheti-3, Kailali, on October 8 last year.

A human skeleton was found on the bank of Godavari river near Chaukidanda Women Community Forest on November 28 last year. Joshi´s family had thought it to be his as his mobile phone, trouser, shirt and license were also found at the site.

The skeleton was sent for verification to Nepal Police Science Lab in Kathmandu by Kailali Police on December 4 last year, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kamal Bista.
