11 held for timber smuggling

DHANGADI: A security team from Kailali Area Forest Office on Wednesday evening arrested a group of eleven persons on the charge of timber smuggling from Chure area at Amgaura of Sugarkhal VDC of Kailali district.



According to Chairperson of Kailali District Forest Office Rajendra Man Singh, the arrested were involved in illegally felling the trees in the forest. “They had settled in the forest area and had been felling Sal trees illegally. We have seized the felled trees,” said Singh. [break]



 The arrested have been identified as Prakash Dhami and Arjun Bogati of Baliya VDC-3, Nabin Chaudhary, Sunchara Chaudhary, Ramjanak Chaudhary, Sukailal Chaudhary, Thaguram Chaudhary, Tularam Chaudhary, Dhutram Chaudhary and Duhara Chaudhary of Pathraiya VDC-3.
