During the discussions, the two agreed in finding a middle path for consensus and end the political crisis.
PM Nepal said: "Positive consensus has met to resolve the political deadlock."
PM said great achievements were attained during the two years of the Comprehensive Peace Accord though expected results were not achieved.
On the occasion, PM urged Dahal to help pass the budget and end the economic crisis in the country.
Saying the meeting was positive, Dahal added the UCPN (Maoist) Central Committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow would find a way to end the latest political impasse.
The meeting was held at the PM´s private residence, Koteshwor.
