KFA into last four of girls´ football
KATHMANDU, Nov 18: Kathmandu Football Academy (KFA) advanced into the semifinals of the ongoing Gurukul Girls´ Football Cup being held at the Goldhungha football ground on Wednesday.
KFA beat the hosts Gurukul 2-1. Elina Shahi and Sajita Magar scored one each for the winning side.
KFA will meet NIMS in the semifinal while Toru will play against Shuvakamana in another match.
Winning start for hosts in Annal Jyoti volleyball
KATHMANDU, Nov 18: The hosts Annal Jyoti ´A´ started on a winning note in the Ninth Annal Jyoti Volleyball Running Cup, an inter-school tournament, held at the hosts court Dholahiti on Wednesday.
The hosts eased past Gyan Bigyan School in straight sets 25-18, 25-13. Likewise, Newton beat SEB School 25-20, 25-23, Jupiter downed Bright Future 15-25, 25-10, 25-12. Likewise, the second team of the hosts suffered a 17-25, 19-25 defeat at the hands of Nightingale. In another match, Gyan Bigyan saw off Jupiter 19-25, 25-23, 25-18.
Under mini boys´ (U-13) category, hosts Annal Jyoti ´B´ beat Bright Future 14-25, 25-15, 25-17, while hosts Annal Jyoti ´A´ were defeated 18-25, 25-16, 17-25 by Gyanodaya. SEB beat Model 25-21, 25-21 and Gyanodaya 25-11, 25-13.
The girls´ matches will be held from Thursday.
