Additional Inspector General of Police of Armed Police Force (APF) Baidhyanath Battalion, Thakur Man Shrestha, said that out of 209 main and 189 secondary pillars, 108 pillars located along India border are missing.
This was stated in a report of the AFP battalion.
He said that attempts are being made to keep detail record of border pillars.
“But most importantly, the issue of border pillar should be resolved through diplomatic efforts,” he said.
Referring to another context, the report said that open Nepal-India border, border encroachment, Tharuhat army, freed Kamiyas, bandas, strikes and cross-country arms transport are posing a challenge to maintain sound security.
Shrestha said that threats of communal violence, guerrilla conflict and organized crime are looming if the security challenges are not controlled timely.
