KATHMANDU, March 22: President Bidya Devi Bhandari flew to Bangladesh for her two-day state visit on Monday morning.
Prez Bhandari is travelling to Bangladesh on a chartered flight of Nepal Airlines in a friendly invitation of her Bangladeshi counterpart Md Abdul Hamid.
President Bhandari is scheduled to address a special function to be organized to mark the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence and the centenary of the founder of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Likewise, two friendly neighboring nations are scheduled to hold state level discussion on Cultural, Agricultural and Tourism sectors, according to Minister for Communication and Information, Parbat Gurung.
Bhandari will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gwayali, Secretary at the MoFA and senior staff of other related ministries.
The duration of Nepal-Bangladesh flight is approximately an hour and 10 minutes. Prez Bhandari and Nepali delegations are scheduled to return to Nepal on March 23.
Prez Bhandari took to her twitter to express her belief that this state visit to Bangladesh will prove to be a milestone in further strengthening diplomatic ties between Nepal and Bangladesh.
