Rajapaksa arriving on Thursday

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa is arriving in Nepal on Thursday for a three-day official visit to Nepal starting October 29.



The president will be accompanied by his wife Shiranthi Rajapaksa and other high level dignitaries during the visit.



Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala and Minister for Federal Affairs, Constituent Assembly, Parliamentary Affairs and Culture Dr Minendra Rijal will welcome Rajapaksa at the Tribhuvan International Airport on his arrival.



President Rajapaksa is scheduled to call on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on October 30. Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal will call on the president of Sri Lanka. The prime minister and Mrs Nepal will host a dinner in honor of the president and Mrs Rajapaksa the same evening.



During his visit to Nepal, President Rajapaksa will pay a pilgrimage visit to Nepal. On completion of his official visit to Nepal, President Rajapaksa will leave for Colombo on October 31.
