BIRENDRANAGAR, Nov 28: The death toll in a jeep accident in Athbiskot Municipality-8 in Rukum West has climbed to five as one of the injured passengers while being rushed to hospital for treatment.
According to the spokesperson for Rukum West Police,Inspector Hari Bahadur Oli, Lal Bahadur Nepali, 58, breathed his last while he was being rushed to Nepalgunj for further treatment.
The ill-fated jeep (Ra1Ja 589), carrying attendants of the wedding procession, met the tragedy on Friday night. The vehicle bound to Gharikhola from Danje from the same municipality skidded some 100 meters off the road, according to police.
The other deceased have been identified as Sarke Nepali,66, Aaite Chadara,48, Gore Nepali, 51, and Kalibhan Nepali,51, of the same municipality, according to Mayor Gorakh Bahadur KC. All of them were declared dead on the spot.
