KATHMANDU, Aug 31: A large number of public and freight vehicles have been damaged and have remained missing in districts like Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading due to Bhotekoshi-Trishuli floods.
According to Suban Giri, president of the National Federation of Nepali Transport Entrepreneurs (NFNTE) of Bagmati Province, the preliminary estimation shows that around 100 buses, more than 70 microbuses and around 300 freight tippers are disconnected. Giri said the actual number could be larger than the estimated ones.

According to the NFNTE, there has also been major damage to containers located around the Rasuwagadhi border point. Giri said they have received initial information that around 300 containers have remained disconnected after the floods hit the region.
Giri said that along with the vehicles, a large number of drivers, operators, workers and businessmen have also been out of contact due to the natural disaster. As per the NFNTE, preliminary records, around 500 drivers, workers, operators and businessmen associated with vehicles are out of contact.
