GHORAHI, Jan 20: A total of 1.2 million rupees has been collected from a Mahayagya organized to collect funds for a school in Ghorahi Sub-metropolis.
The mahayagya began on Thursday for the Shree Barahachettra secondary school in Bangaon. And until Saturday, 1.2 million rupees have been collected as donations, according to the finance committee.
Mahayagya collects around Rs 30 million for school
The community women’s service center tops the list of donors with Rs. 355,555 while Prof Dr Arjun Kumar Budhathoki, Bimala Yogi, ex-student and district judge Lila Raj Adhikari donated Rs. 111,111 each while the former teacher of the school Tej Bahadur Budathoki donated Rs 55,555, according to Keshav Giri of the Committee.
Balyogeshar Giri is the main speaker at the Mahayagya that is drawing a huge crowd coming to enjoy it.
Funds collected from the Mahayagya will be utilized to upgrade the infrastructure and meet other requirements of the school.
