Deputy Superintendent of Police Puskar KC said the homemade liquor was seized from Tathali, Suda, Changu, Chhaling, Nagarkot, Sipadol, and Jagati of Bhaktapur district while being taken to different markets in the valley.
The sale of homemade liquor is upped during the festive season, police said, adding the seized liquor was destroyed in the presence of media persons.
Public vehicles heading to Koteshwor from Bhaktapur Thimi were also checked by the police in this connection.
Considering the social problems as gambling during the festival period, the police have intensified its operation lately.
