A team of police led by DSP Uma Prasad Chaturbedi had reached the hospital following a tip-off regarding the selling of the neonate.
It is said the baby was born out of an illegitimate relationship and the mothr had handed the neonate to the hospital. Dil Kumari who got married three years ago but according to doctors was unable to conceive a baby, was about to buy the neonate from the hospital,the police told Republica Online.
According to the initial investigation by the police, the hospital has been found to have been selling neonates (male) for Rs 5 to 10 lakhs while neonates (female) for Rs 2 to 4 lakhs to couples with infertility.

According to DSP Chaturbedi, police had kept an eye on the hospital after they got information regarding the hospital’s illegal act.
Police are looking for the absconding proprietor of the hospital and the mother of neonate.
