Woman goes missing in Kaligandaki while filming for TikTok

The missing woman, Bishnu Pant, originally from Mahashila Rural Municipality-5, Parbat, and currently residing in Pokhara, slipped and fell into the river while recording a video near Modibeni in Kushma Municipality-5.

PARBAT, April 14: A 35-year-old woman has gone missing in the Kaligandaki River while filming a TikTok video after taking a ritual bath on the occasion of New Year and Baisakh Sankranti.


The missing woman, Bishnu Pant, originally from Mahashila Rural Municipality-5, Parbat, and currently residing in Pokhara, slipped and fell into the river while recording a video near Modibeni in Kushma Municipality-5.

According to Parbat District Police, search efforts are underway, with teams from the District Police Office and Armed Police Force deployed. The team has searched downstream up to the Bihadi area.


Pant was accompanied by her sister and two sons, who returned safely, police confirmed. Kaligandaki sees a large influx of pilgrims during the Nepali New Year and Baisakh Sankranti for ritual bathing.
