KATHMANDU, March 9: The vote counting for Nepali Congress 25 Central Committee (CC) members under the 13th General Convention open category has started at the central party headquarters in Sanepa on Wednesday.

As many as 90 candidates were in the election fray held for the post of 25 seats under open category on Sunday. According to the election committee, the vote counting for the remaining seats will begin after the results of the 25 seats.
The NC's 13th General Convention has already elected Sher Bahadur Deuba as the president of the party, Sashanka Koirala as General Secretary and Sita Devi Yadav Treasurer.
Similarly, 40 candidates are in the election fray for three CC members under Adivasi Janajati category, 12 are vying for two seats under Adivasi Janajati women category, 20 candidates for three seats under Dalit category and five for two seats under Dalit women category.
Similarly, 15 candidates are fighting for three seats reserved for Madhesi people, nine candidates for Madhesi women seats while six contenders are fighting for one position reserved for Muslim community.
