KATHMANDU, March 31: Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP-N) Upendra Yadav has stated that the violence at Tinkune area in the capital on Friday was criminal.
Speaking at an event in Bhaktapur on Monday, he said that while everyone in a democracy has the right to express their opinions and speak freely, the violent actions of that day were driven by a criminal mentality. He further mentioned that the murder, arson and vandalism carried out in the name of restoring the monarchy ridiculed the democratic system and that the entire activity on that day was violent and criminal.
JSPN unlikely to withdraw support from ruling coalition
Chairman Yadav stressed that the perpetrators should be brought to justice. Although the government is strong in Parliament and Singha Durbar, Yadav pointed out that it remains weak among the people.
Chairman Yadav also accused intermediaries, corrupt individuals, and those involved in commissions of being the cause of the public’s frustration with the Nepal government. Yadav warned that if political parties do not focus on reforms in time, the country’s situation will worsen further.
