KATHMANDU, July 31: The CPN-UML has assigned responsibilities to various party leaders for organizing the party’s statute convention scheduled for September.
A meeting of the party’s Central Secretariat held on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, delegated tasks related to the convention's management.
According to Bhishma Adhikari, Chief of the Party Office, the Organization Department has been tasked with verifying the exact number of delegates. The Department will determine how many of the delegates elected during the 10th National Convention have passed away or left the party.

Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Head of the Health and Population Department, has been assigned to oversee health-related matters during the convention. Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, Chief of the Party’s Coordination Mechanism for Affiliated Organizations, will be responsible for volunteer mobilization.
Office Secretary Dr. Bhishma Adhikari has also been given the responsibility of managing the secretariat and food arrangements. Similarly, Central Committee Member Binod Shrestha has been entrusted with transport and stage management.
The responsibility for publicity has been given to Rajendra Gautam, Head of the Publicity and Publication Department. Central Member Hem Raj Rai will be in charge of welcoming performances and other cultural events.
Accommodation will be self-arranged by the convention representatives. However, if any delegate is unable to manage accommodation, the respective district or provincial coordination committees must handle it. Lal Babu Pandit, in charge of that department, has been tasked with the responsibility.
A total of 2,279 representatives are expected to attend the Statute Convention, which will be held from September 5 to 7 at Sunrise Hall in Godawari, Lalitpur.
