KATHMANDU, Dec 15: At the ongoing 11th General Convention of the CPN-UML, Monday marks the window for raising objections to the final voter list, which the party’s Election Commission released on Sunday evening. Claims and objections were allowed until 9 AM this morning.
UML Election Commission Chief Bijay Subba said the final list of candidates will also be published today, with voting scheduled for tomorrow. According to the Election Commission’s timetable, objections to the voter list will be reviewed by 10 AM, and the final voter list will be released at 10:15 AM.
UML to hold district convention on January 7
Nomination forms are being distributed from 9 AM to 12 noon. “While objections to the voter list are examined, we are also distributing nomination forms,” Subba said. Candidate registration will run from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with the preliminary list of candidates published at 2:30 PM.
Objections against candidates can be submitted from 2:30 PM to 3 PM, with reviews expected to take just 10 minutes. The final list of candidates will be released at 6 PM, according to the Election Commission’s schedule.
The convention, which began on Saturday, is being attended by 2,263 delegates.
