Various Madhesi leaders including Nepal Sadbhawana Party Chairman Anil Kumar Jha, Madhesi People's Rights Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D) Parsa Chairman Shashi Kapur Miya, Parsa chapter Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN)Pradip Yadav among others are holding the sit-in at Miteri Bridge linking Raxaul of India with Birgunj.
Following the sit-in, all the cross border supplies have been obstructed. According to Indian employees at their Birgunj-based custom office, they are unable to release the loaded trucks citing critical security situation.
According to MPRF-D's Yadav, they are obliged to stage sit-in at the border point as local administration exercised excessive forces against the protestors.
