U.S. trekking company extends financial assistance to Nepali tourist guides, porters

KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Extollo Adventures, a U.S. trekking company, has extended a financial assistance of US Dollar 12,000 to Nepali tourist guides, porters and their families who have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Extollo Adventures, a U.S. trekking company, has extended a financial assistance of US Dollar 12,000 to Nepali tourist guides, porters and their families who have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.


Naba Raj Amgai, the Nepali representative for the Extollo Adventures, said that the U.S. trekking company provided a financial assistance of US Dollar 12,000 to the coronavirus-hit Nepali tourist guides, porters and their families.

The financial assistance was received through fundraising in the United States, according to Amgai. Tourist guides Chhewang Sherpa and Gadul Tamang have expressed gratitude for the support.


More than 100,000 people involved in Nepal's tourism industry have been hit hard by novel coronavirus. Despite rising cases of coronavirus, the government decided to resume mountaineering activities in Nepal last week.
