KATHMANDU, Nov 8: Two people died in a jeep accident in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality–6, Lamjung, on Friday night.
According to police, the Bolero jeep (Ba 8 Cha 3731), which was transporting cement for the Hidikhola Hydropower Project, went out of control and fell around 800 meters off the road at Naiche at around 11:30 PM. The vehicle was heading from Khudi toward the project site.
Jeep accident claims driver’s life in Lamjung
After receiving information about the incident, teams from the Bahundanda and Khudi police posts reached the site, rescued the injured, and sent them to the Provincial Hospital in Lamjung for treatment. Two of them died while undergoing treatment, said Police Inspector Gyanendra Bahadur Kshetri.
The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old driver Binod Khadka of Melung Rural Municipality–4, Dolakha, and 25-year-old Paras Khadka, who was travelling in the same jeep. Another passenger, 20-year-old Umesh Limbu of Sidingba Rural Municipality–4, Taplejung, survived the incident without injuries.
Police said further investigation into the accident is underway.
