Two including school Principal arrested for taking Rs 450,000 bribe

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested two individuals including a school principal on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 450,000 in Rautahat.



Those arrested have been identified as Sanjay Prasad, principal of Jai Kisan Secondary School in Dharahari and middleman Arvind Prakash Sahakanu.

According to CIAA Spokesperson Rajendra Prasad Poudel, a team from the anti-graft body apprehended the duo while they were accepting the bribe at a hotel in Adataro of Birgunj Metropolitan City–13, Parsa.


Preliminary investigations suggest that the principal and the middleman had demanded money from applicants in connection with a teacher recruitment process announced by the school.


The CIAA said it is conducting further investigations into the case.
