Two arrested with huge cache of hashish

BIRGUNJ, Jan 31: Police have arrested two peddlers with huge cache of hashish from two separate places of the district on Saturday night.

SP Raj Babu Shrestha informed that a vehicle and a motorcycle both with Indian registration number have been impounded.


According to him, police recovered 50 kilograms hashish from an Indian vehicle during security check by Area Police Office, Bhisuwa and arrested an Indian national.

The arrested is Binod Majhi of India. The consignment was concealed inside speaker and body parts of the jeep.

Likewise, Border Police Post Budgain nabbed Newani Majhi with 10 kilograms opium while he was smuggling it in a motorcycle.

Of late, smuggles have been transporting hashish grown in Makwanpur, Chitwan and Dhading district to India through Chitwan National Park and  Parsa Wildlife Reserve.
