Tusker turning wild in Madi again, 3 houses dismantled

RATNANAGAR, Chitwan, Jan 3: Wild elephant has terrorized human settlement in Madi of Chitwan on Thursday morning once again.



The rampaging wild tusker dismantled three houses at Pyauli in Madi Ayodhyapuri this morning and also destroyed foodstuff stored in the houses, said locals.[break]



According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the reigning tusker had broken down the houses belonging to Sabitri Sapkota, Kiran Sapkota and Kumar Tamang of Pyauli at 2.00 am this morning.



Details of loss have yet to be ascertained, police said.



It may be noted that a person had lost his life and three were injured on elephant attack in he same place two years ago. One among them is still under treatment.



The civil police and armed police personnel have been mobilized in the area, according to the police office. The local have developed fear of intrusion of elephant in human settlement at any time.



Earlier, the wild life had demolished eight houses during Tuesday and Wednesday, four in each day.



Locals have been demanding the Chitwan Park to take control the elephant terror, which has been a daily phenomenon in Madi area.



At a time when the terror unleashed by an elephant namely Dhrube remained unchecked, other wild tuskers coming from the national park are also creating trouble to local residents.



Some 20 armed police personnel have been mobilized in Madi area with growing rampage of wild elephant. National park source said that search for reckless elephant ´Dhrube´ is on.
