KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Central member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dr. Toshima Karki, has unveiled a “Reform Roadmap,” outlining a blueprint for the party’s ideological and organizational transformation stressed on unifying the party with like-minded forces.
Presenting her proposal during the party’s two-day extended central committee meeting held in Chitwan, Dr. Karki described the party’s general convention as the ‘oxygen’ of the organization, stressing the need to hold it by mid- December.

She proposed dissolving the existing leadership and secretariat and transforming the central committee into a convention organizing committee to prepare for the national convention.
Emphasizing inclusivity, Dr. Karki said the RSP should build a structure that reflects Nepal’s diversity by engaging Gen-Z youth, alternative political forces, and the intellectual community.
She further called for unity with like-minded parties under the common election symbol of the bell, urging the RSP to demonstrate the highest level of openness and political tolerance. Karki argued that the party should break the traditional left-right polarization and lead a new centrist political movement focused on public welfare.
“This meeting should not be merely procedural but should serve as a forum to define the modality of ideological and organizational reform,” she stated, adding that implementing the roadmap would help establish the RSP as a citizen-centered, cultured, and accountable political force.
