Varsha Thapa’s dream is to be the face of Roberto Cavalli. The 19-year-old aspiring model confidently stated her goals of moving to New York City and struggling in the field of modeling after she finishes her hotel management degree.

“I feel I’m born for it,” she said of modeling.[break]

Standing five feet 10 inches tall, the slender, smoky-eyed Thapa walked in and out the dressing room on her first fashion show organized by Playmysound. At the event, she donned works of Nepali designer Nuzhat Qazi and Indian designer Nandini Baruva.

“I’m not nervous,” Thapa said as she posed eloquently for pictures.

With Miranda Kerr as her role model, Thapa said she wants to change the perception of the society’s view and negative connotation of the modeling profession. Though her parents were hesitant of her decision initially, Thapa said they support her now.

“They’ve seen the passion in my eyes, and I’m really thirsty for it,” she said. “I want to prove it that it can be a profession.”
