Thapa defeated Jagadish Chandra Upadhyay by 84 votes in the second round of voting held on Thursday.In the voting process, a total of 662 votes were cast out of 693 votes where Thapa secured 371 votes against 287 secured by Upadhyay, said NC Baglung.
Thapa is said to be affiliated to Sher Bahadur Deuba faction in the party.
Likewise, Nawaraj Poudel and Umesh Gautam were elected the secretary and treasurer. RSS
