Over 300 cargo laden vehicles are entering into Nepal through Biratnagar-Jogbani border point alone on a normal day. With the supplies returning to normal, the dock yard at the Biratnagar Customs has been extended.
On Thursday, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) approved the continued use of Biratnagar Jute Mill premises as temporary customs yard. Revenue collection at the Biratnagar Customs points has soared up. The office informed that it collected two times more revenue than its target last month. Similarly, supplies via Mechi border point in Kakadbhitta have also returned to normal. The Mechi Customs Office also reported increase in revenue collections.
"There is no obstruction of supplies on the Indian side and our vehicles have also been not obstructed there," Mechi Customs Chief Bhim Prasad Adhikari said adding that the supplies have returning to normal since the last ten days.
