The apex court had rejected the petitions filed through the attorney general´s office requesting the review of the November 25 decision that the supreme lawmaking body´s term could not be extended anymore now.[break]
Talking to reporters during an interaction organized by the Nepal Press Union, Baglung, Koirala said, "What is the point spending more on the leaders by extending the term of Constituent Assembly, which can´t write the new constitution?"
As the party pinning faith in democratic practices, the NC welcomes the apex court´s decision, Koirala added.
"The new constitution will not be drafted. So, there is nothing going to happen by just extending the term (of CA),"the NC leader said. "It is not good to leave the country in a state of uncertainty."
She also pointed out to the need of holding fresh elections in the country. "Nobody should of afraid of going to the people,she said, adding that Maoists want to prolong the current instability to meet their own vested interests as much as possible.
