The workshop, conducted by entrepreneur Ranjit Acharya, was held at Hotel Himalaya and had CEO of Mega Bank, Anil K Shah, as the guest speaker.
Welcoming the participants, Sailendra Raj Giri, managing director of MeroJob.com, said, “I had attended Ranjit Acharya’s workshop myself and when we together organized such workshops at colleges, we could really see students transform which is why we wanted the workshop to be public as well so that everyone could benefit from it.” [break]
The session started with Acharya, also the resource person in the event, talking about his self-devised workshop.
“If you want to be successful in life, the first key is networking. So never lose the opportunity to know people,” he said.
Acharya shed light on some key points that one needs to remember to be able to attain success in life. One of the keys, he said, lies in asking question. “Always ask questions.

This is because every time you do so you’ll get new information.”
He further added that we already have preconceived knowledge of so many things so we just need to reflect on that.
You have to unlearn to learn,” Acharya put in.
He further argued that happiness comes not by ‘chance’ but by ‘choice’ and an encouragement is necessary to become successful.
Acharya then talked about how perseverance, strong faith in oneself, determination and finding one’s passion is important to succeed.
“Do some soul-searching and develop positive attitude -- the first attribute we need in order to be successful,” he said.
The session then continued with Anil Shah, who talked at length about his experiences and ways of achieving success. “I feel sad that the youth of Nepal do not see any future in their own country and they don’t have a vision. If they don’t have the vision, then who will?” he questioned.
Shah further said, “If you don’t define success for yourself then you wouldn’t know what success is.” Success, he said can be defined in one single word ‘happiness’.
Each one of us has unique way of defining happiness and once you have determined what your happiness is, you can then chart your life,” he said.
To Shah, the main ingredients of happiness are money, power, family, status and spirituality.
Altogether there were 80 participants in the program.
The workshop was quite interactive with various thought provoking deliberations, slide shows, presentation of short video clips followed by question and answer sessions.
The workshop, which started at 9 am, concluded at 6 pm.
