CHITWAN, Oct 5: Hotels and lodges across Chitwan district will provide a 75 percent discount on room charges to passengers stranded due to halted transportation services.
A meeting held at the District Administration Office on Saturday decided that travelers unable to reach their destinations after entering Chitwan will be able to stay at local hotels at the reduced rate, Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal said. The Hotel Association Chitwan and the District Police Office will monitor implementation of the decision.

Loknath Bhatt (Krishna), president of the Hotel Entrepreneurs Association, said stranded passengers can contact 9855014180 for support. Depending on circumstances, some may even be accommodated free of charge. Similarly, Subash Chandra Gautam, vice-president of the Regional Hotel Association Sauraha, stated that his hotel is already providing free lodging to 40 passengers, while others will receive the mandated 75 percent discount.
The arrangement covers hotels in Muglin, Narayangadh, Bharatpur, Tandi, Parsa, and nearby areas, where passengers can coordinate with police to access discounted lodging.
