He will also be acting as a mentor and help educate and guide the umpires throughout the tournament, as part of the ongoing ICC initiative for umpires development outside the Full Members.
Alongside Hill and Subedi, Steve Douglas (Bermuda), Rockie D´Mello (Kenya), N Srivan Narayanan (Malaysia), Afzal Pathan (Oman) and Sri Ganesh (Singapore) have also been appointed as umpires for the tournament.
Six teams will compete for the opportunity to finish in the top two of the event and gain promotion to Division 4, which will be held later in the year.
The competing countries are Argentina, Bahrain, Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Malaysia and hosts Singapore.
Wushu tournament kicks off
KATHMANDU: The Central Regional Wushu Tournament, organized by the Central Regional Sports Development Committee, began at the Dasharath Stadium on Tuesday.
The top two players from thaulo and the top player from sansau will qualify for the upcoming Sixth National Games to be held in Dhangadhi and Mahendranagar. Altogether 161 players from 15 districts are participating in the five-day wushu tournament.
Opel starts with twin wins
KATHMANDU: Host Opel International School started the Seventh Opel Valley-wide Inter-school Basketball Tournament with twin victories on Tuesday. In the matches played on its home court, Opel A beat Jagat Mandir 15-3 and Opel B defeated Angel Lord 17-14 in the senior boys´ 3x3 category.
Dorje Tamang scored eight points for Opel A while Shankar Chhetri netted seven points for the B team. In the other matches of the senior boys´ category, Nobbs overcame Angel Lord 12-11 as Nikon Paudel scored eight points. In the junior boys´ section, Odyssey School defeated Jagat Mandir 30-16 and Advance Academy 28-10.
