Special scrutiny of police on smuggling of fire crackers

KATHMANDU, Nov 1: Nepal Police are to observe special scrutiny on smuggling of explosive materials including firecrackers in view of the upcoming Tihar festival.



Police said that they have tightened the checking not to allow entry of firecrackers and police personnel have been deputed in plain clothes for it. [break]



Police spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Binod Singh said that all check-points of the Kathmandu valley have been on high-alert.



Police have warned of taking action against those who are involved in smuggling of explosive materials including firecrackers as transaction of such explosive materials is illegal.



Singh said firecrackers smugglers will be handed over to the concerned District Administration Offices for action.



Police have increased patrolling at the bordering areas as firecrackers are mostly imported from India.
