South Korean tourist dies of altitude sickness in Manang

According to Assistant Chief District Officer Yubaraj Aryal, the deceased has been identified as Myeongok Jong. Police have been deployed for body management, he added.

MANANG, April 8: A South Korean tourist died due to altitude sickness while returning from Tilicho Lake in Manang district. The incident occurred at Thoroj Khola of Ngisyang Rural Municipality-9.


According to Assistant Chief District Officer Yubaraj Aryal, the deceased has been identified as Myeongok Jong. Police have been deployed for body management, he added.

Aryal stated that once the body is brought to the district headquarters, a decision will be made on whether to conduct a post-mortem in Chame or send it to Kathmandu.
