Seok, Chae-En, president of Hyecho Adventure Travel, team leader for the group, said explaining that people mostly do not believe in businessmen and hence they have brought the team to get first hand information. It will make communicate easier that Nepal is open for tourists, he added.
"When we tell our customers that Nepal is safe, they suspect that we are conveying the message only to sell our package but when we bring media people and alpinist they can relay the actual status of what is going on in Nepal now," said Chae-En.
Ho Young, Kim, manager of Korean Airlines, who came to Nepal for fam trip said that the members of the fam trip are the messengers to deliver the message from Nepal to Korea. "We don't need to persuade Koreans to visit Nepal. We have got the first hand information of Nepal and based on this we are going to reveal the facts that Nepal safe for tourists to travel," said Kim.
Thanking the South Korean group for visiting Nepal, BK Shrestha, president of Hotel Association of Nepal said that major tourist destinations are not affected and 98 percent hotels are safe. "Nepal is an attraction for all be it trekkers, climbers, cultural or religious groups," said Shrestha.
Amar Bahadur Shahi managing director of Raaika Tours and Travels, which coordinated the fam trip said that the trip was organized to give the Korean team the first hand information on Nepal. A total of 23,205 tourist visited Nepal in 2014 up from 19,714 in 2013, according to the statistics of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
